Jefferson City Board of Education approves highest teacher raise in 15 years

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) The Jefferson City Board of Education unanimously approved the budget for fiscal year 2024.  The budget will include a $1,3000 increase to teacher salaries, the largest in 15 years.  Portions of the budget will also go to a series of upcoming projects including the early childhood learning center, Bel Air Elementary and Thorpe Gordon Elementary.

Risk of heat-related illness increased with higher temps this week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team is forecasting temperatures in Mid-Missouri over 100 degrees this week.
