Tracking more warmth and a chance for showers tomorrow, but should be dry for fireworks

TONIGHT: Warm temperatures continue tonight, but conditions will remain dry for the evening as lows hit the mid 70s.

TOMORROW: Scattered showers are expected through the afternoon but should clear out come firework time. Any chance for an evening shower looks to be isolated to areas along the I-44 corridor. Temperatures will once again reach the lower 90s, with heat indexes expected to reach back into the triple digits.

EXTENDED: Sunday will bring some much needed cooler air, as a cold front passes over the region throughout the day. Rain is possible along the front, particularly south of I-70, but should clear out by Sunday evening. While ambient temperatures will remain in the upper 80s during the week, feels like temperatures are expected to drop significantly, as the drier air clears out much of the moisture that's been contributing to the extreme heat. Expect mostly sunny skies through Wednesday, with our next chance for rainfall not coming until Thursday next week. Chances currently remain low and scattered (30%), but will continue to be present until we approach next weekend.
