COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teenager died Saturday night in a motorcycle accident in Columbia.

At 9:06 Saturday night Columbia Police responded to a crash at West Broadway and Yorkshire Drive between three vehicles. Upon their arrival Columbia Police learned that a Volkswagen crashed with two motorcycles, resulting in the death of one person.

Walker Davis, 18, of Columbia was transported by EMS to a local hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. A second motorcycle driver and passenger were injured and taken to a local hospital.

Police investigation determined that both motorcycles were traveling on West Broadway, near Yorkshire Drive. The Volkswagen was pulling out of Kelly's Ridge Apartments on the 3600 block of West Broadway.

As the car pulled out in front of the motorcycles, Davis's motorcycle was laid down on its side and the other motorcycle collided with the front end of the car. After the collision, the Volkswagen re-entered Kelly's Ridge parking lot, and the driver fled from the scene.

Sunday, Columbia Police arrested 23-year-old Elizabeth D. Lopez as the suspected driver. She was arrested on suspicion of one count of leaving the scene resulting in the death of another and two counts of leaving the scene resulting in injury to another. She posted bond Sunday.

"This has been a tough weekend for those involved in accidents: drivers, victims, loved ones, other motorists, CPD officers and our partner first responders. Drive safely, and get home safe," Columbia Police said in a social media post.
