Columbia Fire Department officials said on Tuesday that a new fire station is in the works on the southwest side of Columbia to help services get to the community faster.

Board of Trustees announced Tuesday that the Boone Health System will soon have a new chief executive officer. According to a news release, Troy Greer was appointed to the position. The Boone County Sheriff’s Department says it has booked a woman in the Boone County Jail for allegedly stabbing a man on Demeret Drive in east Columbia.
