Woman arrested in Boone County for alleged stabbing

The Boone County Sheriff's Department says it has booked a woman in the Boone County Jail for allegedly stabbing a man on Demeret Drive in east Columbia.

According to a Facebook post on the Sheriff's Department page, deputies were called out to the 5300 block of Godas Drive around 5:38 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Authorities say they were investigating a stabbing that happened in the 700 block of Demaret Drive. The victim of the stabbing was found on Godas Drive by Columbia Police officers. The man was taken to a local hospital and has since been released, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Deputies say based on their investigation, they believe the victim was attacked by Tina Norwoood, 49, of Columbia. Investigators say Norwood stabbed the victim after a fight over cigarettes.

Norwood is currently being held in the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
