Hallsville schools put on lockdown

All Hallsville R-IV schools went on lockdown Wednesday morning. School officials confirmed the lockdown to ABC 17 News, stating that a threat was made against a parent who has students in the district. “There was a threat made in the community and we’re responding to that,” said superintendent John Robertson. Ashland to impeach councilman

Tuesday night Ashland’s mayor announced the City Council will hold an impeachment hearing Nov. 11th. Alderman Jeff Anderson was suspended last month. At Tuesday’s council meeting, the mayor said impeachment papers had been drawn up. Anderson is expected in court Monday where a judge could decide to place him back on the council.
