Two people hurt in Jefferson City crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were injured in a crash on Highway 50 in Jefferson City on Tuesday.

According to police, the wreck happened in the eastbound lanes just after 3:15 p.m.

Investigators said that an SUV went off the right side of the road on a curve. The vehicle then got back on the road and went across three lanes before hitting a concrete median and flipping over.

Police said the driver, Sophia Cook, 36, and the passenger, Keith Golden, 35, were both taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. According to a news release, both people were wearing seat belts.

The crash had traffic down to one lane for about 45 minutes.
