A Missouri State Highway Patrol helicopter crashed during a training flight Saturday. Around 1 p.m., the aircraft began experiencing engine failure. Two pilots, Michael Hargus and Jeff Noack, conducted an emergency landing approximately one mile southeast of the Jefferson City Memorial Airport. The pilots were able to set the helicopter down in an open field.

A Jefferson City woman was killed in a Sunday morning car crash in Moniteau County.
