Tracking more rounds of strong to potentially severe storms

TODAY: I'm tracking scattered showers and storms moving out of the area before chances of strong to severe storms enter the area by 3-5 PM. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect because of these storm chances, with damaging winds being the main concern, although hail could be possible. Temperatures will get up into the mid to upper 80s during the afternoon hours as winds blow out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking strong storms forming into a line and moving out of the area by midnight, leaving Mid-Missouri with a brief period of dry time. Temperatures will drop into the low 70s by the end of the night as winds shift into the southwest at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another round of storms becoming possible by the afternoon and evening hours of Friday. There is a lower concern for severe weather, but it is still on the table during this timeframe, with damaging winds being the main threat if anything reaches severe strength. Temperatures during Friday afternoon will once again warm into the mid-80s. Storm chances will linger into Saturday as the trend of mid-80s continues for the afternoon hours. By Sunday and Monday, a ridge of high pressure is set to move into the region, bringing drier, sunnier weather back to the forecast. With this will come warmer temperatures, as each afternoon to start the week will be expected to get back up into the upper 80s and low 90s.
