Tracking rain for holiday travel, cold week ahead

TONIGHT: Skies clearing and temperatures dropping into the 20s overnight.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the mid-upper 40s.

EXTENDED: Clouds start to filter back in on Tuesday night ahead of low pressure that will bring rain to much of the region on Wednesday. Any chance at snow is slim, and most likely near the Missouri-Iowa border if temperatures cool enough. Light rain is possible for areas north of I-70 in the morning north of a warm front, with showers filling in south of that boundary toward late afternoon and evening. Behind that system, it will be cloudy to start Thanksgiving morning, and much cooler as morning temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 20s to around 30. Highs only top out in the upper 30s on Thursday with even cooler temperatures on Friday. Friday morning starts out in the upper 20s with highs in the mid-30s. A weak system slides in from the northwest over the weekend, potentially bringing some flurries between late Friday night into early Saturday. Saturday night, temperatures fall into the upper teens with highs only reaching near the freezing mark on Sunday.
