Tracking another fantastic day ahead of light tropical rain

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures remain seasonal in the 70s with mostly sunny skies.

TONIGHT: Clouds fill in overnight as low pressure interacts with Hurricane Helene and begins to pull rain in from the east slowly.

EXTENDED: Light rain will fill in across the southeast half of Mid-MO early Friday and winds will also be noticeably gusty up to 25 mph from the north and east. Rain totals will be less than a half inch though and chances look to drop off by the weekend. Winds remain steady from the northeast keeping temperatures fairly seasonal in the 70s. Unfortunately, there are no signals for good rainfall into early October that would help with the persistent drought.
