Columbia city leaders set to hold a retreat at food bank Friday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia city council and other city officials will be holding a retreat at the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri Friday morning.

According to the agenda, the retreat is created for officials can spend time together to check in and ensure the governing body continues to govern well together on behalf of the community.

During the retreat they will be going over communication guidelines and expectations along with working on better direct and honest exchanges so they can better work together and leading to new knowledge and understanding.

Other items on the agenda include, contemporary trends that impact governance in the city and how the council can better support the governing body and vise versa. City leaders will be revisiting their expectations on communication, along with big picture over the budget process.

The retreat beings at 9 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. Friday.
