Performing arts center, sports complex to be built at Helias High School

Helias Catholic High School announced on Thursday will be making some new additions to its campus.

According to a press release from the school, it will build a performing arts center on the east side of the school, a baseball and softball  complex on the southeast part of the campus and expand Rackers Field House.

The new additions are part of its Spirt of Excellence campaign, which will be a $30 million investment to complete, according ot the release. The project will be funded from contributions from the 2015 Rooted in Faith, Building on Excellence campaign and the school is looking to raise $14 million in donations and the school’s foundation, the release states.

According to the release, the performing arts center will include a 1,000-seat auditorium, as well as academic and performance spaces for the school’s music, dance and theater programs. The center will be available for community use.

The baseball-and-softball complex will also be able to seat 1,000 people and will include concession stands, restrooms and a press box, the release states.
