Multiple people arrested in Jefferson City after BB gun shooting
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jefferson City police say a juvenile was hurt and a city bus was damaged after two shootings were reported Monday.
The police department said in a news release late Monday that three adults were arrested and a juvenile suspect was detained linked to the shootings.
Officers say a city bus driver reported a bus window had been shot out in the 1200 block of Linden Drive around 4:13 p.m. The release said no people on-board were hurt and the bus returned to the Jeff Tran office for further investigation.
A second shooting was reported at Binder Lake about two and a half hours after the first incident, police said. Officers said a juvenile had been shot in the arm and was treated at the scene.
According to the release, the shooting victim provided descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle to officers.
Police stopped a vehicle matching the description given to officers around 9:05 p.m. The release said officers located a BB gun, as well as, drugs and alcohol inside the vehicle. The police department said three adults were arrested and one juvenile was detained on suspicion of the shootings.
Another person had life-threatening injuries after a separate shooting in Jefferson City on Monday. Police say a 21-year-old man turned himself linked to the shooting. The police department said three people were held at the Cole County Jail in connection with the shooting.
