Two airlifted after Pettis County shooting; deputies search for juvenile suspect

A shooting late Friday night in Sedalia left two people injured, one critically, according to a post from Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders.

Around 11:15 p.m., deputies responded to the 23000 block of Mather Road for a reported nuisance, the post says. A deputy was reportedly speaking with the property owner when gunshots were heard from another area of the property. This made bystanders flee.

Columbia teen gets 15 years for shootings

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) A Columbia teen pleaded guilty Wednesday to multiple Columbia shootings. Justin Lumley Jr. pleaded guilty to three amended charges, including second-degree assault, admitting to shooting one person in December 2024.  He also admitted to shooting a gun from a car that caused property damage in January 2025, according to court records.
