A man accused of firing a gun and having a standoff with law enforcement in April has been sentenced.

Zeno T. Finley, 34, was pleaded guilty on Wednesday to possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to five years of supervised probation with a suspended sentence of six years.

He was initially charged with three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, illegal gun possession and possession of a controlled substance.

Finley had a standoff with law enforcement on April 18 at a four-unit apartment building in the 800 block of Franklin Street.

Witnesses told police they saw a man fire a gun into the air while he argued with a woman, according to the probable cause statement. The woman and Finley then left the area. A witness later told police the woman was Finley's ex-girlfriend, according to the statement.

The statement says a witness told police they saw a man with a gun in the apartment building stairwell after the shot was fired and the standoff ensued. Finley ignored police commands, but a SWAT team eventually arrested him without incident. Drugs were also found at the scene.
