Missouri's two US senators have given their takes on the open Supreme Court seat left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Republican Josh Hawley says he expects lawmakers to hold a vote on President Trump's selection to possibly replace the late Justice Ginsburg.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-MO, says, "I think we should vote no matter what. The leaders have been very clear that we're going to vote. I think that's the right call but I hope it happens before the election."

Missouri's other senator outlined the history of previous Supreme Court nominees as to why the Senate should vote.

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-MO, says, "Anytime the President of the White House and the Senate have been in a general political agreement, and I think there have been 29 of those times in an election year, judges have been confirmed. When there's a disagreement, that's solved in another way."

President Trump is expected to name a nominee Saturday according to the Associated Press. The AP is reporting appeals court judge Amy Coney Barrett is considered one of the favorites.

The AP reports Ginsburg’s casket will be on public view Wednesday and Thursday under the portico at the top of the court's iconic steps in front of the building.
