COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Commission could take a vote as soon as Thursday on an agenda item to replace part of the showers at the Boone County Jail.

According to county documents, a bid closed on Nov. 1 for furnishing, delivery, and installation of replacement shower surrounds at the jail.

The demolition and replacement of the shower surrounds is estimated to cost $36,319, according to the Boone County bid award recommendation memo. The county received two bids with Harold G. Butzer, Inc. providing the commission with the lowest-cost bid.

The total cost of the shower replacement will be paid by funds from department 6200 -- Capital Repairs and Replacements.

This is a developing story.
