COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department reported a "personal robbery" that might have included gunshots downtown Thursday afternoon.

A CPD news release stated the incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. in the 100 block of North Tenth Street. Police gave no other details, even after ABC 17 News sought more information.

A City of Columbia spokesperson said the incident took place near the Wabash bus station, but happened off the property.

Robin Starletta Cathcart, an employee at Como Crystal House, said that she heard the sound of a gunshot, which she recognizes because of her military service. A worker at Fretboard Coffee said officers were in a nearby alley looking for casings after the alleged robbery.

No injuries were reported, and police said they didn't have a suspect.
