Tracking triple-digit heat and low storm chances this weekend

TONIGHT: Quiet and mild, with mostly clear skies and lows in the lower 70s.

TOMORROW: Hot and muggy, with a heat index around 100 degrees. A pop-up storm is possible, but almost everyone will stay dry.

EXTENDED: A Heat Advisory will go into effect this weekend for parts of Mid-Missouri for a heat index around 100 degrees. Saturday and Sunday may both see a few pop-ups in the heat of the day, but there will be plenty of time to hit the pools. A warm front will move through the area early Monday, driving the heat index up to 105 in some spots, and we may be just as hot on Tuesday while we wait for a cold front to bring relief. The Heat Advisory will end Tuesday after the front moves through, and temperatures will cool to the low 80s later next week with a big break in humidity.
