Eldon police detective pleads guilty to misdemeanor DWI

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Eldon police detective pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving while intoxicated about a week after he was charged.

Luke Gatlin, of Kaiser, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Miller County and was ordered to pay a $640.50 fine and court costs. He was charged on July 9.

Court documents in previous reporting indicate Gatlin was pulled over on Feb. 14 in Osage Beach for driving without headlights, and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper smelled liquor on his breath.

Gatlin allegedly failed a field sobriety test and blew a .193 on a breath test at the scene, documents show. A second breath test at the Lake Ozark Police Department showed his blood alcohol concentration was .16, the probable cause statement says.

Gatlin has worked with the Eldon Police Department since 2015, previous reporting shows.
