Tracking bright skies today, storms possible tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny, with a high near 90 degrees.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild, with lows in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: Thursday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for the threat of strong storms producing damaging wind gusts in the evening. Scattered showers first arrive Thursday morning, which will impact our chance of storms later in the day. If we see less rain in the morning, there will be a greater chance for scattered storms after 5 p.m. Damaging wind would be the main concern with storms that develop Thursday evening, and flash flooding is also possible. A surface front lingers over the area on Friday, leading to more storms in the afternoon, and scattered rain may even linger through Saturday. Warmer and drier weather begins to take over next week, with highs climbing back to around 90 degrees in the extended forecast.
