Jefferson City School District, Columbia Public Schools closed Wednesday

The Jefferson City School District and Columbia Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

A Weather Alert Day was issued by the ABC 17 News Stormtrack Weather Team because of snow accumulating Tuesday night and intense cold temperatures continue to hit the area.

JCSD made the announcement through email and on its social media.

"NO SCHOOL: JC Schools will be CLOSED on WEDNESDAY 2/19/25 due to inclement weather and potentially unsafe travel conditions," the post says.

CPS wrote that Wednesday will be a "traditional snow day."

"Due to winter weather and continuing snowfall, Columbia Public Schools will not be in session on Wednesday, February 19, 2025," CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark wrote on social media. "This will be a traditional snow day for students and there will be no AMI."

CPS used its last available day of alternative methods of instruction on Tuesday. Class hours from Wednesday will have to be made up during the district’s available summer hours.

MU to go remote Wednesday, off-campus shuttles to stop running at 6 p.m. Tuesday

The University of Missouri and its offices will use remote operations on Wednesday.

The school made the announcement using the MU Alert system. Off-campus shuttles will stop running at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

A message from Boone County Joint Communications says that Go COMO will not operate the Tiger Line on Wednesday.
