Tracking a warm end to the week followed by storms Friday night

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the mid-80s. Storms roll in from the north after sunset.

EXTENDED: Low humidity continues through Friday with westerly winds, but it will be a warm afternoon as highs get up into the mid-80s thanks to a northward lifting warm front. On Friday night, showers and storms develop ahead of a cold front and work into Mid-Missouri late, continuing into Saturday morning. This batch of rain and storms could bring about 0.5" to 1" of rain, and will slide south of Mid-Missouri by mid-morning. Additional showers and storms are possible on Saturday evening south of the front, generally south of Highway 50. Most of the rain stays south of the area on Sunday, allowing temperatures to rise to about 80. Next week starts off cooler than average on Monday and Tuesday as northwest upper level flow holds on, but the upper high pressure system bringing heat out west will migrate in our direction by late next week, potentially giving us our first 90s of the year so far.
