Tracking dry weather tomorrow, rain and storms return Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with showers exiting. Lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and mild with highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Clouds will stick around tomorrow, but it will be our driest day of the week. We reach the mid-upper 70s  tomorrow, but rain quickly returns on Thursday as a cold front approaches. We could see scattered showers and storms, and a few of those could be strong with hail as we're in a level 1 out of 5 severe risk for the southern half of the area. Low pressure is slow to exit the region on Friday, keeping rain around for another day. Over the weekend, we could see an isolated storm or two, especially early with low pressure parked across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Temperatures over the weekend ramp back up into the 80s with lower rain chances. Next week looks active yet again with severe weather chances between at least Tuesday and Thursday, if not lingering into Memorial Day weekend. Rain amounts through the next 5 days will be around 1-1.5".
