Public hearing to be held in Jefferson City for potential Ameren gas rate increase

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Public hearings will be held in April to receive customer comments for a potential natural gas rate increase by Ameren, according to a Wednesday press release from the Missouri Public Service Commission.

The release says that Ameren requested to change natural gas rates to reflect upgrades to its system. The proposed rate would equate to about $16 a month based on 48 ccf of usage, the release says. The change would add roughly $39.6 million in revenue. A hearing was held in January over electric rate increases.

Public hearings will be held April 14 in Cape Girardeau and April 16 in Wentzville, the release says.

Another will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, April 21 in Jefferson City at the Governor Office Building at 200 Madison St. A question-and-answer session will follow a presentation.

Virtual hearings will also be held at noon and 6 p.m. April 24.
