Tracking a big cool down Friday before a warmer weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and windy with lows in the low teens. Wind gusts up to 25 mph, dropping wind chills into the low single digits.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cold with highs near 30. Wind chills in the low 20s.

EXTENDED:  I'm tracking a dry cold front that moves in tonight and brings temperatures down into the low teens by Friday morning. Strong winds will drop the wind chills into the low single digits to start the day Friday. High pressure will keep us sunny, but highs only reach the upper 20s to around 30 by late afternoon. The good news is, the upper level pattern begins to shift this weekend, bringing in warmer southwest winds. Highs on Saturday reach around 50 with more clouds, but a warm front lifts through on Saturday night, sending temperatures into the upper 50s on Sunday. Next week is looking above average the entire week with a chance of a few showers Monday night, and then more widespread rain is possible between Wednesday and Thursday. Highs on Monday get into the low 60s, but we'll cool down to about 50 for much of the week after that.
