Tracking a mostly dry weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Showers have left this morning, but expect clouds to linger after a brief peek at the sun. Temperatures are steady in the low-to-mid 40s through the day.

TONIGHT: We're dry for the majority of the night, but early Saturday morning, showers will return for the south. Temperatures will fall into the 30s, but remain above freezing.

EXTENDED: Rainfall will be short-lived, coming to an end by mid-morning Saturday, but clouds linger most of the day. Sunshine returns in full force on Sunday, but it's only enough to bump temperatures to near 50. Monday remains seasonal, and southerly flow will strengthen Monday night as a trough in the jetstream approaches from the west. This will keep us warmer late Monday into Tuesday, and also introduce a chance for rain. This rain chance will likely hold off until early Tuesday morning with a few rumbles of thunder possible. Showers exit by late Tuesday night or early Wednesday, leaving things mostly dry for the rest of next week. The front looks to return temperatures to 40s on Wednesday, with a further cooldown on Thursday.
