Tracking a warm afternoon with Friday showers

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the upper 70s thanks to winds out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. Skies remain mostly clear leading to a beautiful afternoon.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the mid-50s as skies become partly cloudy into Thursday morning. Winds remain out of the southwest at 4-8 mph.

Extended: Thursday sees a similar trend to Wednesday afternoon with increased partly cloudy skies. Temperatures remain into the mid to upper 70s Friday, but light morning showers are possible. A lull in rainfall occurs during the late morning and early afternoon hours. A cold front from the northwest drives a line of showers throughout Mid-Missouri late Friday afternoon lasting through early Saturday morning. Anywhere from 0.5" to 1.5" of total rainfall remains possible. Weekend highs cool to the 60s with drier conditions.
