Tracking a wet weekend before Halloween
Today: Increasing clouds with highs in the low to mid-60s. Light rain moves in from the south by dinnertime.
Tomorrow: Scattered showers early in the day with more isolated rain by Sunday afternoon. Highs cool slightly to near 60.
Extended: Rain will be light and intermittent this weekend, with the best chance for higher amounts along and south of I-44. We'll end up around the 0.25" mark across most of Mid-Missouri through Sunday night. The low pressure system has slowed slightly in regards to previous forecasts, suggesting light rain may last into early Monday. Still, dry conditions return in time for Halloween as highs reach the mid-60s. Monday evening looks fantastic for trick-or-treaters with a light westerly breeze and temperatures falling through the 50s. The upper jet stream will bring winds from the southwest for much of next week, pushing temperatures into the lower 70s through Friday. Winds pick up at the end of the week as a strong low pressure system moves across the Rockies and brings a chance at rain and storms on Friday or Saturday. Rain amounts look higher with this system, and there may even be a few strong storms depending on how it all plays out. We'll keep an eye on it over the coming days, but we're tracking the potential for 1-1.5" of rain between Friday and Saturday.
