Tracking steadily falling temperatures under showers today

Today: Widespread showers throughout the day, with most of Mid-Missouri gaining another 2 inches of rainfall. Temperatures already peaked in the mid-50s just after midnight and will fall into the 40s today.

Tonight: Rain slowly exits east with the last light showers out by midnight. Chilly with lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Extended: The rest of the week will be seasonable with highs in the lower 60s and lows in the lower 40s. Low pressure looks to get cut off from the main flow of the jet stream on Friday, possibly bringing a few showers to areas mainly along and south of I-44, and any shift northward could give us a chance at scattered showers between Friday night and Sunday for the southern half of the area. Rain totals will be in the 1-3" range, with the highest concentrated totals along and east of Highway 63.
