Tracking chances for measurable rain

TODAY: Monday continues our warming trend, with south wind and plenty of sunshine. Expect today to start clear, with partly cloudy skies by this afternoon. With the aforementioned southwest breeze in the 5-10 mph range, temperatures will climb to near 80 for highs.

TONIGHT: Low level winds are pulling in warm air, but also more moisture. This will increase the chance for showers overnight. Chances before midnight are slim, and focused in the southwest. Rain chances will grow towards sunrise with scattered showers becoming likely. Rain chances are not limited to, but are most likely in areas south of I-70.

EXTENDED: Rain chances will continue on Tuesday, but will be focused in the morning hours. Expect highs on Tuesday a bit cooler, in the mid-70s. A general lull in precipitation is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening, but another round is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday. A cold front will arrive sometime overnight Tuesday into Wednesday from the west. This will likely bring ongoing, but likely weakening, thunderstorms into mid-MO. There is an isolated chance for a storm along the front to have hail or strong wind potential. This will be a waning threat as the storms pass overnight. The threat may rekindle again on Wednesday to our east as front pushes away. The biggest impact will be the much needed rainfall, of which we could see anywhere from 0.25 to 0.5 of an inch over the two day period. Beyond these two days, the forecast is generally quiet. We'll dip into the 60s for highs on Thursday, with dry weather expected. The next exceptionally cool morning, comes on Friday, with lows in the 30s and a high again in the 60s. The weekend ahead looks dry, with 70s expected on Saturday, and 60s again on Sunday.
