Tracking above-average heat over the weekend

Today: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

Tonight: Mostly clear skies with a mild start to the weekend in the low 70s.

Extended: Summer heat returns this weekend as high pressure to our west moves back in our direction and winds pick up from the southwest. That will bring highs back to the 90s and an increase in moisture sends the feels-like temperatures to the upper 90s both Saturday and Sunday. Next week's pattern gets more active as we'll be stuck between the upper high pressure to our west and a deepening low to our east. That will bring temperatures down into the lower 80s for most of the week and we'll be in the path of rounds of rain and storms between Monday and Tuesday, and possibly into Wednesday. Rain amounts will be between 1-2" for that 3-day period. Temperatures continue to trend cooler than average into next weekend!
