Tracking mild conditions before a weekend warmup
This Afternoon: Another gorgeous day with seasonal highs in the upper 80s. Dewpoints will hover in the low 60s, lending to less humid conditions.
Tonight: Mild and dry as winds begin to shift out of the south. Lows fall to the upper 60s.
Extended: This wind shift out of the south comes as a weak cold front tries to approach from the northeast. It struggles to sweep through Mid-Missouri, and likely stalls just north of the area tomorrow. This could allow low-level moisture to pool near the front on our side, ticking up the humidity a bit on Friday. Still, extra clouds with the boundary nearby may keep temperatures a few degrees cooler, closer to the mid-80s. Warmth and humidity continue to build over the weekend as highs creep into the lower 90s. The increase in moisture will also put the heat index just shy of triple digits. A subtle upper-level pattern shift will finally bring more disturbed conditions our way early next week, along with a return to seasonable temperatures.
