Tracking high humidity and heat this weekend, relief early next week

TODAY: Mostly sunny and muggy with highs in the upper 90s. Heat index from 103-106 with a pop-up storm possible in the afternoon.

TOMORROW: Clouds filling in early; highs still reach the mid-90s. A slight drop in humidity brings the feels-like down a few degrees to 100-103. Widely scattered showers possible again in the afternoon.

EXTENDED: A Heat Advisory is in effect for the entire area thru late Sunday evening for brutal heat all weekend. Relief finally heads our way with a cold front tracking through the region early Monday. This may fuel a round of showers Monday morning and isolated stronger storms could form in the afternoon in a more energized atmosphere. A lackluster wind setup should keep these storms from becoming too strong while the main threat will be localized heavy downpours. Rain chances could possibly hold into Tuesday if the front stalls and temperatures are trending near average all week behind the rain.
