Tracking some departing clouds and some cooler air for the rest of the week

THURSDAY: Winds are shifting to the cold air direction as I write this morning. A cold front is sliding through behind last night's showers. Dry skies have settled in for most, apart from some linger showers in our northern and eastern counties. Behind this front, we'll see clearing skies and increasing sunshine this morning. By noon, just about all of us will see blue skies. This extra sunshine will try to warm us into the mid-50's, but it will have to battle a stout west wind to do so. Expect a high near 55 with a wind chill in the upper 40's.

TONIGHT: Skies will stay clear through sunset, before clouding up overnight. The wrap around portion of the system leaving us Thursday morning, will return Friday morning. Winds shift to a more northwesterly direction. We dip a bit cooler, into the upper 30's by Friday morning.

EXTENDED: This wrap around portion will keep us under cloudy skies most of the day Friday. We may also see a chance for a sprinkles or flurries. Either option we see will have to battle a lot of dry air. We’ll only recover into the 40’s Friday with that wind sticking around. Friday night into Saturday morning looks the coldest with lows Saturday morning in the high 20's. The wind won't give up just yet, making it feel like low 20's to start the weekend. The Mizzou game looks like football weather, with afternoon highs in the mid 40's and a wind chill just a tad cooler. A quick disturbance moves in through early Sunday, bringing another chance at rain mixing with a few flakes. No impacts are expected. A warmup looks possible early next week, with a return to the 60’s as early as next Tuesday.
