Two teens arrested after alleged Columbia carjacking

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police arrested two 19-year-old men early Friday after calls of people breaking into cars on the Columbia College campus and a carjacking.

Officers were first called at about 11 p.m. Wednesday for three people breaking into cars in the Columbia College parking lots, followed by a similar call in the 4800 block of Paris Road, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Officers were then sent to a carjacking call at 2:23 a.m. in the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive, where a victim reported several people assaulted them and took their vehicle, police said. CPD says it used Flock license plate readers to identify a stolen vehicle used in the carjacking and the vehicle break-ins, leading to the arrest of two suspects near the 500 block of College Avenue.

J'Marion Dalton, 19, of Columbia, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, stealing a vehicle, carjacking and unlawful use of a weapon. Officers arrested Emmanuel Ernest, 19, of Columbia, on suspicion of second-degree burglary, stealing a vehicle and carjacking.

Both men were in the Boone County Jail on Friday morning with no bond. A mugshot of Dalton was not available.
