Tracking a few weekend showers

TODAY: Friday is mostly cloudy, with a few breaks of sunshine. Just how much sun makes it through will greatly determine our afternoon high temperatures, but we expect enough sun to get highs into the low 70s near Columbia. This is slightly warmer than what we felt on Thursday, and more in line with Wednesday's highs. Rain showers have been present on radar in the north early this morning, but it's not clear that rain is making it to the ground, as there is some dry air for rain to fall through.

TONIGHT: Rain chances grow this evening, as spotty showers become possible by the late afternoon. Rain will be light and limited in coverage, but you may want to check radar before you head out for those high school football games this evening. Rain becomes more scattered overnight, keeping temperatures warmer through Saturday morning. Lows by sunrise may remain in the 60s.

EXTENDED: Rain continues in a scattered fashion through Saturday. With surface winds becoming more southerly, high temperatures remain near 70 degrees, with some in the 60s. Despite rain chances continuing on Sunday, coverage and extent of rain are expected to be less, allowing for highs in the low-to-mid 70s. Monday appears to be drier, and we'll start Tuesday dry, but a dynamic system arrives by Tuesday night, bringing widespread rainfall. Rain chances continue through the middle of next week.
