Tracking a cool and rainy end to the week

RAIN RAIN
KMIZ

FRIDAY: Rain will be off and on throughout much of the day. Our system’s packing up and moving out, meaning it’s going to get a bit breezy and temperatures will try to cool down, even into the afternoon. We’ll be in the 60’s this morning before dropping into the 50’s later today.

TONIGHT: Rain will finally start to push out once and for all this evening. Some lingering drizzle will be possible east of HWY 63 by the time some high school games are kicking off tonight, but many of us will be dry by then. Lows will cool off quickly once the clouds leave, into the low 40’s.

EXTENDED: After a cool tailgate, lots of sunshine will help get temperatures back into the low 60’s Saturday afternoon. We’ll warm up a bit more on Sunday, to near 70. We’ll hold onto the low 70’s going forward, all the way through Wednesday. Our next system of note will slide through the Midwest by the middle of next week, pushing a cold front our way Wednesday. A few showers will be possible, but more importantly, another shot of cool air will accompany them. That looks to knock highs back into the 60’s to close out next week.
