Beautiful weather this afternoon, monitoring weekend storms

THIS AFTERNOON: Filtered sunshine will continue throughout the afternoon. It's warm and even a touch humid into the evening. Highs jump into the mid to upper 70s.

TONIGHT: We hang onto partly cloudy skies overnight. That, along with southerly winds will keep temperatures in the upper 50's to near 60.

EXTENDED: Kicking off the weekend on a bit of a warm note. A warm start and some sun mixing in will get highs into the low 80's. A front will roll through mid-Missouri Saturday night bringing a chance at showers and thunderstorms. We'll have to watch this threat closely for the potential of severe weather. There are still some confidence issues in terms of timing/impacts. Another round of storms is possible throughout the day Sunday. Cooler weather takes over, especially late next week has several cold fronts look to pass through the region.
