MU Health hosting flu vaccine events in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Flu season is approaching, and MU Health is offering Columbia residents pharmacy appointments, drive-thru and evening events, and extended-hour clinics to get their flu shots.

MU Health is offering several vaccine events in Columbia from September through October:

• Sept. 21 at the Battle Avenue Medical Building from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Sept. 26 at the South Providence Medical Building from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Oct. 3 at the South Providence Medical Building – Pediatric Clinic from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Oct. 6 at the Family Medicine Clinic – Keene Street from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Oct. 8 at the Woodrail Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Clinic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Oct. 10 at the Columbia Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Oct. 13 at the Smiley Lane Family Medicine Clinic from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

There will also be available vaccine events outside of Columbia:

• Sept. 30 at the Ashland Family Medicine Clinic from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Oct. 2 at the Madison Street Medical Building from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Oct. 8 at the Mexico Family Medicine Clinic from from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Oct. 13 at the Fayette Family Medicine Clinic from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Oct. 15 at the Jackson Road Family Medicine Clinic from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

These events will offer both Flu and COVID-19 vaccines. No appointment is needed for the vaccine events, but patients must be at least 6 months old to receive a flu and COVID-19 vaccine at evening vaccine events. For drive-thru events, patients must be at least 12 years old to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

MU Health is asking patients to bring their photo ID and insurance card to the events.

According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Boone County has reported 46 combined cases of Influenza A and B from August 30 through September 12. This is roughly a 64 percent increase in reported cases compared with 2025 during the same time period, when 28 cases of both Influenza A and B were reported.
