Tracking afternoon severe weather risk

SPC D1

THIS AFTERNOON: We're continuing to monitor the threat for severe storms to pop this afternoon. Temperatures will be very warm, in the mid to upper 80s across mid-Missouri. For the latest severe storm timing and threats, head over to the Insider Blog.

TONIGHT: Those storms will move out of the area by 10 PM, leaving cooler weather in its place. Lows fall to near 40 tonight.

EXTENDED: Thursday and Friday don't look to be as active, but they will be cooler. Highs will only manage the middle 50's, but we will manage some sun. The coldest night looks to be Thursday night, with a chance we see some spots dip to the freezing mark. The weekend is looking like it will be wet for any of the holiday plans. Rain pushes back in late Friday night for Saturday and will stick with us through the weekend. This system will help keep us cool to start out the week Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the low 50's.
