Policy: Scharf in his campaign materials emphasizes his relationship with former President Donald Trump -- a good idea in a state where Trump enjoys major support. Since last fall Scharf has worked on Trump's legal team as he faces a litany of charges. His supporters say those charges are from a legal system used as a weapon against him.

Scharf also worked as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Trump Justice Department.

Like his opponent, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, Scharf's platform stakes out conservative positions on social and economic issues. He touts his role in getting conservative justices onto the Supreme Court, leading to the decision that overturned Roe v. Wade.
