Tracking dry, sunny weather before storm chances return Sunday

TODAY: I'm tracking a cool and mostly clear start to the day as temperatures begin in the low 50s and winds blow out of the northeast at 8-12 mph. By the afternoon hours, temperatures will warm into the upper 70s as winds shift into the southeast at 8-12 mph and clouds gradually return.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking temperatures dropping back down into the mid-50s by the end of the night as cloud cover persists. Light, isolated showers could be possible for some as winds continue to blow out of the southeast at 10-15 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another warm day on Sunday as temperatures warm into the mid-70s by the afternoon hours. Before sunset, the potential for strong to severe storms will be entering from the west, weakening overnight into early Monday morning. A brief break in activity is expected Monday morning, but more potentially strong to severe storms are expected during the afternoon hours as temperatures warm into the low 80s. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect Sunday and Monday. A brief period of dry weather returns Tuesday, but more rain and storm chances will take over the rest of the week, leading to temperatures only topping out in the mid to upper 60s each afternoon.
