Tracking stifling heat through the start of the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and warm with lows in the lower 70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid with highs in the lower 90s. Heat index between 100-103.

EXTENDED: Storms along the I-44 corridor will continue to weaken as we lose daytime heating, but may return by peak heating of Thursday in the same area. We'll continue to be hot and humid with highs in the lower 90s through Saturday, and heat indices generally between 100-105 Thursday and Friday before dropping to 98-100 on Saturday. We may see a few showers and storms Saturday night along the front that moves in between Sunday and Monday, but rain amounts look to stay under 0.5". We can finally look forward to some relief as a cold front passes through on Monday and drops temperatures to the upper 70s during the day for much of next week.
