Tracking a break from storms today, severe risk tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and warm, with highs in the low 80s. An isolated storm is possible near I-44, but most will stay dry.

TONIGHT: Clouds roll in late overnight, with temperatures falling into the 70s and eventually 60s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect for Friday for the threat of severe storms in the afternoon and evening. Storms will first develop west of the area in the heat of the day, then track through Mid-Missouri in the late afternoon and evening. All severe hazards are possible, including damaging winds greater than 70 mph, hail larger than two inches, and a few tornadoes. The severe risk will end early Friday night as storms track east, and rain winds down into Saturday morning. Temperatures will be much cooler over the weekend, in the 50s on Saturday and waking up in the 30s on Sunday morning.
