Tracking another brutal cold snap followed by freezing rain

TODAY: Mostly sunny but breezy and bitterly cold with highs barely out of the single digits. The wind chill remains near or below zero all day.

TOMORROW: Dangerous cold is now set to last through early Sunday with morning wind chills below zero. Although we are tracking recovering temperatures by the end of the weekend, freezing rain chances will pick up late Sunday night.

EXTENDED: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day remains in effect through Sunday for the dangerous cold; we have also issued an additional Weather Alert Day for early Monday as freezing rain appears likely around the morning commute. Check out the Insider Blog linked above for a detailed forecast on the cold snap and ice. Luckily temperatures keep warming as rain chances continue on and off next week.
