Tracking a warm-up before a stronger cool down

TODAY: Winds gust as high as 20-25 mph today out of the northeast. Skies remain partly cloudy as highs warm into the lower 60s.

TONIGHT: Broken clouds may linger overnight, with winds relaxing and turning mostly from the east. Temperatures fall to mid-40s by Tuesday morning.

Extended: Temperatures continue a warming trend with highs into the 70s Wednesday and Thursday before a major cold front moves in Thursday night. This cold front will bring a line of showers with it that exits the region by Friday mid-morning. Temperatures will remain capped into the lower 40s heading into the weekend with overnight lows into the 20s.
