Investigation requested after state auditor calls for prosecution of former Randolph County sheriff

Missouri State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick says former Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson needs to be prosecuted for the misappropriation and misuse of funds. The more than $224,000 in funds spent from Feb. 2023 to Oct. 2024 has given the sheriff’s office the lowest rating of “poor,” according to the report Fitzpatrick released Tuesday.

Missouri House Republicans give initial approval to initiative petition reform, new congressional map

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) House Republicans signaled Monday that they’re willing to set a higher bar for measures to make the statewide ballot in Missouri and to redraw the state’s congressional map. The House voted 96-55 on a bill to reform the state’s initiative petition process, by which citizens can get questions onto the ballot.
