Tracking a local cooldown

Today: Wednesday looks to remain well below average highs with temperatures topping out into the upper 60s this afternoon. Skies remain sunny as winds remain out of the northeast at 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Overnight temperatures cool to near 40 degrees tonight as northern counties such as Macon could break into the upper 30s bringing the potential for some light frosting. Skies remain mostly clear with a northeast wind at 5 mph.

Extended: Temperatures slowly increase heading towards the weekend to the mid to upper 70s as skies remain mostly sunny. Overnight lows cool to the mid to upper 40s making for chilly conditions. Next week sees chances of scattered showers beginning Tuesday.
